Court Stops Kaduna Govt From Taking Over Properties

A Federal High Court in Kaduna has issued a temporary injunction prohibiting the Kaduna State Government from interfering with the development of a real estate firm’s properties in the state.

Justice H.H. Shagari also ordered on Tuesday that the status quo ante bellum be maintained between the parties until the hearing and determination of the initial motion.

 

1) Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State stated yesterday that some governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) filed a lawsuit against the Federal Government over the re-design of the naira because their advice was disregarded. El-Rufai stated in an interview with Radio France International (RFI) that those criticizing the move were ignorant of the roles and responsibilities of a governor.

5) As directed by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) insisted yesterday that only the old N200 notes were reissued. In light of reports that President Muhammadu Buhari had issued an order directing the CBN to also reissue the N500 and N1,000 notes, the clarification was made.


6) On Tuesday, Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo stated that oil theft and losses pose a grave threat to Nigeria’s economy and have a negative impact on the country’s revenue. According to him, if oil theft went unchecked, it would spell doom for Nigeria and fuel a public finance crisis that would paralyze the government.
