1) Adamawa boils as INEC stops declaration of governorship results

 

As a result of INEC’s inability to declare the results of the governorship election, political thugs and miscreants have unleashed terror, attacks, and various criminal tendencies on the citizens of Yola, the state capital of Adamawa. Professor Mohammed Mele, the Returning Officer of the election, announced the postponement of the announcement of the election’s results until Monday at approximately 1 a.m., at which time the Collation Center at INEC’s headquarters began to experience issues.

 

2) Man who tweeted against Gov Soludo, APGA arrested, moved to Abuja

 

On Saturday, police in Anambra State arrested a suspect, Nnamdi Chude, for tweeting against the governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo. Chude, an ardent Labour Party supporter, tweeted on Saturday that Soludo’s party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, was involved in the rigging of the election for the House of Assembly.

Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, states that he is unaware of any specific allegations or grounds for Mr. Nnamdi Chude’s arrest. Chude had warned via his Twitter account that thugs suspected of working for the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance in the state had allegedly invaded polling stations and stolen ballot boxes.

4) 38-year-old man steals N2.4m tricycles

 

Offiong Edet, a 38-year-old man, was arraigned before the Ogba Magistrates’ Court sitting in the Ikeja area of Lagos State for allegedly stealing two tricycles valued at N2.4m from the Agege area of the state. The tricycles are reportedly owned by a man named Jepter Chukwuma.

 

5) Thugs beat PDP Chairman to death

 

Peter Nweke, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Ezza North Local Government Area in Ebonyi State, was allegedly beaten to death by thugs loyal to the ruling All Progressives Congress. On Saturday, during the governorship and state Assembly elections, hoodlums reportedly attacked Nweke, leaving him with fatal injuries.

 

6) Nnamani Concedes Defeat, Congratulates LP Senator-elect 

 

Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has congratulated Sir Kelvin Chukwu, the senator-elect for Enugu East District. Sir Kelvin Chukwu of the Labour Party defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The candidate of the Labour Party received 69,136 votes to defeat Nnamani of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who received 48,706 votes.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu was declared the winner of the Lagos governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The incumbent governor, Sanwo-Olu, was re-elected with a landslip victory.


8) NNPP leads APC in Kano gov election as INEC suspends result declaration

 

Ahmad Doko, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation officer for the Kano governorship election, has announced a two-hour break to cross-check election results prior to the final announcement. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Mala Buni of Yobe the victor of the state’s election for governor on Saturday. Professor Umaru Pate, the INEC Returning Officer, announced the results in Damaturu, the state capital, on Sunday.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has denied bail to an associate of the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sunday J. Ubua. Friday, a three-member panel of the appellate court determined that Ubua’s appeal was without merit.

M.C. Oluomo, in a viral video, had threatened that Igbo people living in Lagos should not bother to vote if they do not vote for the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has deemed the Governorship and State Assembly elections in Rivers State to be peaceful. Wike also stated that the conduct of today’s election has improved since the Presidential and National Assembly elections three weeks ago.
