1) Atiku writes INEC and requests access to election supplies.

Atiku Abubakar, a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the recent presidential election, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to adhere to the March 3 ruling of the Court of Appeal.

The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress has invited the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, as well as senators-elect and representatives-elect on its platform to a crucial meeting. The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced that residents of rural and unbanked areas can no longer participate in its cash swap programme. 4)   Accept old naira notes, APC Governor urges banks


The Ekiti State Government has issued a warning to its citizens not to reject the old naira notes as legal tender in accordance with the Supreme Court’s ruling, lest they be arrested and prosecuted. 5) 15 Abducted Victims rescued by the Nigerian Police.

The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued 14 kidnapped victims after 68 days in captivity. SP Mohammed Shehu, the command’s spokesman, stated that the victims were rescued by police tactical operatives and a vigilance group during a mop-up operation at Munhaye Forest in the Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.

7)  Lagos Bus-Train Collision: Forgive Me, BRT Driver Begs Victims

 

The driver of the Lagos State staff bus that was struck by a train at the PWD/Shogunle railway line on Agege Motor Road, Lagos, on Thursday has revealed the cause of the collision that resulted in six fatalities and 84 injuries. Oluwaseun Osinbajo stated that the bus developed a mechanical defect on the rail track and that he was not responsible for the collision.

 

8)   Tinubu will handover to Northern Candidate

 

Joe Igbokwe, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Drainage and Water Resources, has ridiculed the South East region from which he hails by boasting that the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, would rule Nigeria for eight years before handing over power to a northerner.

 


9)  The National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) Renewal Group has advised opposition parties protesting Bola Tinubu’s election as president to abandon any hope of overturning his victory.

In a statement released on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti, the group hailed Tinubu’s election as Nigeria’s best recent development.

 

10)  A tragedy occurred over the weekend in Owo, Ondo State, where a five-month-old infant and his mother were reportedly killed by generator smoke they inhaled overnight. According to reports, the family purchased the generator on Monday, and their deaths occurred on Friday evening. The deceased, identified as Tawa, and her husband were FMC Owo employees.

13) According to reports, South African entertainer Costa Titch has passed away. Commentator Phil Mphela confirmed his death on Twitter just before midnight, which was followed by a string of sombre responses from industry peers.
