FG To Establish Railway Community Security Outfit

In order to address the country’s growing security issues on its railway corridors, the federal has completed plans to establish the Nigerian Railways and Host Communities Security Committees.

Recall that the communities along the Abuja-Kaduna railway corridor had previously been contacted by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to assist with intelligence gathering and protect the railway infrastructure from vandalism and attacks.

The FG intends to step up community engagement efforts in response to the recent terrorist attack on a train station at the Itakpe-Warri rail facility.
