2) The military high command announced on Friday that it had opened an investigation into the alleged deaths of innocent civilians last Sunday during airstrikes by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in the Mutumji community of the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State that were intended to target terrorists.

10) Usman Garba, the village chief, was killed on Thursday when bandits attacked the Mulo community in the Mashegu Local Government area of Niger State. The village head was killed just a few metres from the community, and three other community members who had been abducted along with him were also taken away.
