Peter Obi Lambast Tinubu says No serious leader will go on rest

 

The Labour Party’s Peter Obi stated that no serious leader would take a vacation in Nigeria.

 

Obi, the LP presidential candidate in the February 25 election, disclosed this on Monday during his Eid-el-fitr visit to the Muslim community at the Akwa Central Mosque.

 

He urged that Nigerians not be divided along religious and political lines.

He stated, “Those who desire rest can go and relax.” I cannot relax because I must visit schools and hospitals and engage with individuals.

 

“No serious leader will go out of Nigeria to rest. We will continue to visit as many people as possible and provide them with the best assistance possible.”

 

Recall that Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Monday after spending over a month on vacation in Europe.

 

In his speech following his return, Tinubu stated that he was ready to hit the ground running.

 

Meanwhile, Benue’s Labour Party Chairman, Mr. Nathaniel Ochoche, chairman of the Labour Party, was murdered by unidentified gunmen wreaking havoc in the State.

 

Ochoche, the party chairman for Edikwu Ward 2 in the Apa Local Government Area of the state, was murdered with four others over the weekend.

Mr. Tersoo Orbunde, the state publicity secretary for the party, confirmed the incident in a statement he issued and made available to reporters on Monday.

 

It stated, “The Benue State Secretariat of the Labour Party received the news of the gruesome murder of its Chairman in Edikwu Ward 2 in Apa LGA, Nathaniel Ochoche, was ambushed and murdered by armed Fulani militia, with utter shock.

Mr. Ochoche was a consummate party man who worked tirelessly for the growth of his community, constituency, and country in both words and deeds until his passing.

 

Urgently, he demanded that the federal government enact measures that would put a glorious end to the menace.
