Names, identities, and ranks of NSCDC (Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps) officers killed in Kaduna during intense gunbattle with bandits have come to light.
In the state’s Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, suspected bandits killed seven NSCDC officers, five vigilantes, and six miners at the Kuriga mining site.

An Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASCII), two Assistant Superintendents of Corps I (ASCI), three Inspectors of Corps (IC), and one other officer were reportedly among the officers killed.
They are Elisha Yashim Silas, Michael Miss, Fidelis Yusuf, Peter Nom, Simon Augustine, Peter Ayuba, Peter, and Shamsuddeen Labaran from ASCI, ASCII, and ASCII, respectively.

The bandits ambushed the staff and vigilantes while they were on patrol at the site, according to an earlier report on ejesgist.ng.
A viral video showed the NSCDC officers’ lifeless bodies lying around the scene.
Further information revealed that there were eighteen total fatalities in the attack, including vigilantes and representatives of the Kaduna State Ministry of Mines.

According to a source, the bodies of the deceased have been placed at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna while efforts are made to identify the six miners and the slain vigilantes.
