Obi: Obasanjo suffers another major backlash over LP candidate endorsement

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria, has experienced yet another backlash as a result of his endorsement of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Dr. Usman Bugaje and Professor Bolaji Akinyemi said Obasanjo’s support of Peter Obi was incorrect on Sunday, January 1 in an interview with newsmen.

Remember that former president Olusegun Obasanjo endorsed Peter Obi of the Labour Party for president in his new year’s message.

Akinyemi, who harshly criticized Obasanjo, referred to him as the root of Nigeria’s problems.

“When you’ve completed your term as president, go home, keep quiet, and emulate Generals Gowon and Abdulsalami.

“You have served your term or completed your innings. I’ll let you guys go. It’s hard for me to accept that you caused problems for us before returning to claim that you can solve them.

A former aide to Baba Iyabo, as he is affectionately known, named Dr. Bugaje, also criticized his support for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

The former lawmaker claimed he was unable to formulate the standards the former President used to decide whether to support Obi’s presidential campaign.

Dr. Bugaje advised Nigerians to consider Obasanjo’s background as well as his support for Peter Obi.

His record (that of Obasanjo) “doesn’t encourage me to take whatever he says objectively,” he declared. When he attempted to amend the constitution to prolong his term, I was a member of the National Assembly.

In that regard, we must oppose him. I won’t find him to be someone I can trust for what he says. He is free to say whatever he wants. Helping voters make the right choice is what we need to do.
