Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has issued a warning to Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, the chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, after he threatened Igbos in Lagos State.

Oluomo was seen in a trending video threatening non-voting Igbos to stay at home if they do not support his party.

In a statement released on Friday in response to the threat, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, criticised Lagos State Governor Bajide Sanwo-Olu and the Nigerian police for remaining silent.

Okwu stated that it was quite unfortunate that the Ndigbo in Lagos State have become an endangered species.

This is indeed an excessive threat, and we will not tolerate it. The authorities, including Governor Sanwo-Olu and the police, are providing support to the political thugs who are murdering and torching Ndigbo in Lagos State by remaining silent.

“However, we want to warn the international community that if a single Igbo man or woman is killed in Lagos State tomorrow or after the election, the governor should be held accountable as the state’s chief security officer.”

“The police hierarchy, which has not only refused to arrest MC Oluomo but has also remained silent, will also bear responsibility for any misfortune befalling our people.”

Okwu urged Ndigbo in Lagos not to be intimidated, but to “vote for the candidate of your choosing; be prepared to defend and protect yourselves.” Your vote is your right, and no one should prevent you from exercising it effectively against peace’s enemies tomorrow.”
