Reacting to the Obasanjo letter, Okon said Ekweremadu party members are busy with politics and have moved on, and he hopes he has learned his lesson.
He said, “In life, your real friends show up in your lowest moments and darkest days of adversity. It is the nonpartisan statesman Obasanjo who remembers Ekweremadu. His colleagues and party men are busy with politics. They have moved on, and I hope he has learned his lesson.”
