They said that the Osun PDP caretaker committee was witch-hunting them due to their public support for Dotun Babayemi’s bid for governor, and they called the accusations leveled against them false and absurd.

“We want to make it very clear that the accusations made by our traducers in the party are untrue, without merit, and cannot be supported by any relevant data. The fact that Prince Oyedotun Babayemi is a member of our local government and that we have a moral obligation to support his goals is something we express with all seriousness.

“Supporting Babayemi’s goals never implied anti-party sentiment. We assumed he would prevail in court, so we toiled ceaselessly and nonstop for the party’s victory.

“Suspending party members as the elections drew nearer has the potential to raise misgivings in PDP members’ minds and might significantly impact the party’s chances at the 2023 elections if not quickly handled.”
