Gunmen abduct 16 wedding guests in FCT
At least 16 wedding guests, including four children, were kidnapped by armed individuals at a community in the Gwargwada Chiefdom of the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
A local named Shuaibu Dantani stated that the victims, who were predominantly women, were kidnapped as they were making their way home from a wedding on Saturday evening in the Abaji Area Council.

He said that the kidnappers stopped the vehicle that was transporting the victims and took them away quickly. He also said that “a man riding a motorcycle on his way to Rubochi who nearly ran into the kidnappers returned to the village and raised alarm.”
According to Dantani, members of the victims’ families have not yet made contact with the individuals who abducted them.

Alhaji Hussain Agabi Mam, the Agabe of Gwargwada, confirmed the incident over the phone to our reporter.
He also stated that they had not yet established communication with the individuals who had kidnapped the individuals.

At the time that this report was being written, the incident had not been confirmed to our reporter by DSP Adeh Josephine, who is the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command.
