Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has revealed how his doggedness paved the way for Adams Oshiomole, Kayode Fayemi, and Rauf Aregbesola to become governors of their respective states.

Peter Obi, while speaking at a Town Hall meeting organised for presidential candidates by Arise TV on Sunday, recalled how he fought against what he described as “rascality” when he was removed from seat as Anambra Governor.

Obi was speaking about how he was removed from his position as Anambra Governor.

He stated, “During my transition into politics, I experienced some remarkable things.”

I believe the court appointed me to the position of governor before anyone else did so.

Because when I challenged the election results, I won, but another candidate was declared the winner.

That candidate went to court to challenge the results, and the court ruled in my favour, making me the winner of the election.

Impeachment proceedings began against me just six months after I became governor.

I took the rascality to court and fought it, and as a result, I was the second person to be reinstated as governor after being removed for impeachment.

“Five months after that, my tenure was terminated by an election that was not meant to exist, and I went back to court and established the tenure of governor. In the end, I was successful.

“The likes of Fayemi, Oshiomole, and Aregbesola would not have been governors if it were not for me; it was my challenge of that rascality that made it possible for them to become governors,” he said.

“It was my challenging of that rascality that made it possible for them to become governors.”
