Peter Obi, who is running as the presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 election, has stated that the reason he is running for the presidency
The Labour party presidential candidate and former governor of Anambra state added that he is running for the 2023 Presidency because he is qualified.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, stated that the reason he will not be running for office is because of his ethnicity when he was speaking with journalists before a recent campaign rally.
“Because I am originally from the Southeast, Is not the reason i will be running for office in this election but because I am a Nigerian and meet the requirements to do so, I will be running in this election.
“I do not want anybody to vote for me because they feel sorry for me,” the candidate for the Labour Party said.

Yinusa Tanko, the spokesperson for the Obi-Datti Campaign Organisation, has stated that Obi has the support of more than 71% of the youth population in Nigeria.
Tanko made this announcement in Osogbo, which is located in the state of Osun, prior to the presidential rally of the Labour Party being held today (Saturday).
He stated that the structure of the Labour Party in Osun, which he stated included the youth, artisans, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and pensioners, was being mobilised for a successful performance in the election.
