Peter Obi Won Overwhelmingly in Rivers, Not Tinubu — Former SA to Governor Wike
Opunabo Inko-Tariah, former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wik, has said that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi won overwhelmingly in Rivers State.
The renowned South-South politician, and public affairs commentator, who shared his thoughts on the performance Peter Obi in Rivers State as against what was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alleged that it took the collaborative efforts of INEC and some other persons to turn the results in favor of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
While speaking during an interview on Central TV’s ‘Breakfast Central’ program on Friday morning, Opunabo, who is a former special assistant to the Rivers State government on Media and Publicity, argued that though he supported Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the presidential election, he cannot deny that Peter Obi won overwhelmingly across the state. Going further, the south-south politician alleged that it took the collaborative efforts of INEC and some other persons to turn the results in favor of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said; “In the last presidential election, Wike, probably, played a major role in ensuring that Rivers votes were allegedly given to the APC’s presidential candidate who is now the president-elect. But I can tell you that in Rivers State, the man who actually won the election was Peter Obi. I know that the case is subject to the legal prognosis of the court, and we can only hope and pray that the judges will do justice to the matter. My preferred candidate was Atiku Abubakar but I have to be as honest as I can by saying that Peter Obi won overwhelmingly in Rivers.
“People like to think that Atiku lost in Rivers because of Wike, but when you look critically at the real results, nothing could be further from the truth. The election was rigged in connivance with INEC. It’s not as if the president-elect won in Rivers. That is false. Tinubu didn’t win in the state. I know the matter is before the courts but we must say the truth. Atiku did not also win Rivers, even though he is my preferred candidate. The man who won the election in Rivers was Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
