Sobomabo Jack-Rich, the National Rescue Movement’s candidate for governor in Rivers State, has accused Nyesom Wike of failing to develop the state’s rural communities. Nyesom Wike, according to Jack-Rich, has focused more on building infrastructure in metropolitan areas.
All of the projects Nyesom Wike has been ordering have been in two local governments in Rivers State, claims Jack-Rich. Jack-Rich continued by charging Nyesom Wike with focusing on the Port Harcourt and Obio Akpor local government regions while neglecting other local governments.
According to Jack-Rich, Nyesom Wike has commissioned twelve flyovers in the urban areas of Port Harcourt and Obio Akpor, while he commissioned projects that has little monetary value and significance in the rural areas. According to Jack-Rich, Nyesom Wike commissioned some projects worth as little as N50 million in some rural areas while the big money projects are concentrated in the urban areas.

Jack-Rich explained that some of the communities that Nyesom Wike commissioned inferior projects in rural areas in Rivers State could be one of the communities that produced the natural resources of Rivers State.
