Ejes Gist News reports that the Africa Magic Nigerian Idol Grand Finale was held on Sunday, May 22nd and was broadcast live.

Progress wins N30 million and an SUV.


Progress and , the two finalists that advanced to the grand finale, battled for the most coveted title in Nigerian Idol, and Progress won.

, , , , Zadok, Faith, Progress, Gerald, Abigail, Joel, Precious, and were the twelfth finalists.

Both finalists sang D’banj songs during the closing event.


At the final concert, artists such as Patoranking, Ayra Starr, and Ice Prince performed, while Cobhams Asuquo and Chike sang with the finalists.


Progress wins the competition’s main prize, which includes a N30 million cash award, a brand new SUV, a six-track EP recording agreement with three music videos included, an all-expenses-paid vacation to the Seychelles, and a weekend holiday to Dubai for two.


A wide choice of Tecno items, a Bigi branded refrigerator with a year’s supply of Bigi drinks, and a DSTV explora completely installed with a 12-month premium subscription are among the other prizes available to the winner.

Meanwhile, the top four finalists on Sunday night left the audience and the judges in awe-inspiring performances as they performed two songs each

She surprised the Judges with her soulful voice which they didn’t see coming and continued to give superb performances back to back. She started singing when she was 2-years-old and has since then performed mainly at church.

Zadok’s unique tone and powerful timbre made him one to look out for right from the Auditions and he definitely made sure to use his abilities to get to the top. Entertainer and businessman Zadok started singing a few years back and does that everywhere.





Progress’ range stood out amongst many of his peers and that vocal dexterity carried him through the Audition into the Nigerian Idol top 2. After going to a musical competition at the age of 12, Progress knew instantly that he wanted to be a singer.

Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress. She started her career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album in 2002, titled Ogaju
