R Kelly to serve 30-year jail term in North Carolina prison

Renowned R&B artist Robert Sylvester Kelly, who is widely known as R. Kelly, has been transferred to a correctional facility in North Carolina, USA. He is set to serve a 30-year jail term for various sexual misconduct charges.

Last week, the US Federal Bureau of Prisons announced that the Federal Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina, received a new inmate. The inmate was transferred from the Metropolitan Correctional Centre in Chicago.

In September, a federal jury in Chicago found the singer guilty on six counts of sexual abuse against three women.
