Tinubu To Compensate Wike, Northern APC Governors With Cabinet Positions – Reports
There are indications that President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has begun assembling his cabinet in preparation for his administration’s inauguration on May 29.
According to sources, the former governor of Lagos State intends to compensate Northern All Progressives Congress (APC) governors for their role in ensuring that a southerner succeeded President Muhammadu Buhari and especially for supporting his ambition.

Ejes Gist News Nigeria gathered that Two northern governors who played crucial roles in Tinubu’s rise to power, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, have been earmarked for lucrative positions in the incoming government.
Ganduje is expected to become the next minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), while El-Rufai will succeed Boss Gida Mustapha as Secretary to the Federal Government. (SGF).
A source revealed to this online newspaper that Wale Edun, a former Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State whom Tinubu nominated in 2015 for Buhari’s appointment as Minister of Finance, is slated to take over the Ministry of Finance.
Recall that in 2015, Buhari rejected Tinubu’s nominee and appointed Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s nominee, Kemi Adeosun, to the position.
The source also disclosed that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, will become the President-elect’s Chief of Staff.
While a former head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, and a former governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, will also be in the cabinet, former governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani, will be rewarded for his role in supporting Tinubu despite the outcry and popularity of the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi in the South-East region.

It was also revealed that some members of the ruling party are lobbying for the President-elect to compensate Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike for his participation in the presidential election.
Reportedly, these parties are urging Governor Wike to name the minister who will represent the state in the cabinet.
Ejes Gist News Nigeria also gathered that despite taking a vacation abroad, Tinubu is still holding a number of consultations with various interests, intending to hit the ground running immediately after his inauguration.
