In response, Carragher tweeted that Ronaldo handled the situation “badly” and that the majority of the fans would support Ten Hag.

I Feel Betrayed’: Ronaldo Slams Manchester United, Ten Hag

In the bombshell interview, Ronaldo claimed that Ten Hag does not respect him, so he would never respect the Dutchman.

Additionally, he said that throughout the summer, both Ten Hag and some high-ranking club officials tried to eject him.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner said that he believed the club had betrayed him.

Ronaldo continued, “I do not know what is going on but since Sir Alex Ferguson left I saw no evolution in the club, the progress was zero.”

He added that there had been no improvement at the club since Ferguson left.

“I want the club to succeed. I returned to Manchester United for this reason.

However, there are some things inside of you that prevent us from competing at the same level as (Manchester) City, Liverpool, and even now, Arsenal…

A club of this size ought to be at the top of the heap, but they aren’t, regrettably.

In response to the interview, Carragher stated that although Ronaldo claimed Ten Hag did not respect him, he (Ronaldo) had also shown the coach disrespect on numerous occasions.

Ronaldo said on Twitter, “I do not respect the manager,” Carragher wrote.

Ronaldo under Erik Ten Hag made it known that he wanted to leave the team, declined to be a substitute, got up from the bench, and left before the game was over.

The fact that 99% of United supporters will support Erik Ten Hag demonstrates how poorly Ronaldo handled this.

In August 2021, Ronaldo made his way back to Old Trafford from Juventus.

Under the direction of Alex Ferguson, he had a brilliant first stint at United, winning three Premier League championships, the Champions League, and the first of his Ballon d’Or awards as the world’s finest player.

Despite his 24 goals in all competitions, United had a dismal season last year, finishing sixth in the Premier League and missing out on Champions League qualification.

After that, Ronaldo allegedly tried to arrange a departure before the start of this season, but no deal with another team could be reached.
