The news of Saint Obi’s death has shocked the Nollywood industry and fans alike. The talented actor, film producer, and director had been an integral part of the Nigerian film industry since the late 1990s. His contribution to the growth and development of Nollywood cannot be overstated.

Saint Obi died at the age of 58.


Saint Obi was born in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria, in 1964. He studied theatre arts at the University of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, where he honed his acting skills and developed a passion for the art. He began his acting career in the early 1990s and quickly rose to fame with his standout performance in Zeb Eiro’s ‘Sakobi.’

Over the years, Saint Obi has starred in over 100 Nollywood movies, including Candle Light, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, and many more. He was also a prolific film producer and director, having produced and directed several successful films in his career.



The actor was said to have died on Sunday, May 7th, last week, in the home of one of his siblings.

Saint Obi’s death has been shrouded in controversy, with reports suggesting that a family feud between his siblings delayed the announcement of his passing. Despite this, fans and colleagues have taken to social media to pay tribute to the late actor, with many describing him as a kind and generous soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Cause of Saint Obi ‘s death

He was said to have died after a brief illness; however, the nature of the illness was not disclosed.
