The seven states, represented by their respective attorneys general as plaintiffs and the Attorney General of the Federation as the defendant, asked the Supreme Court to intervene in the presidential election of 2023.
The states asserted that Tinubu’s declaration as the election’s victor violated the Electoral Act and the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the state, INEC uploaded results to the IREV through the BVAS.
In addition, they feared a breakdown in public order and civil disobedience.
Friday’s Notice of discontinuance, signed by their attorney Mike Ozekhome (SAN), stated:
Notice is hereby given that the plaintiffs are completely withdrawing their claim against the defendant in this case.
