Aminat Tajudeen, a student at the Kwara State College of Education at the 100-level, reportedly collapsed and passed away during a lecture session.

 

As per the report by Punch, the incident took place at approximately 1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023.

According to a source, the student obtained her matriculation gown in preparation for the upcoming ceremony on Thursday, April 13th, and subsequently returned to class. It was during this time that the incident occurred.

 

According to a senior member of the educational institution, Aminat, who has since passed away, was expeditiously transported to the school’s medical facility subsequent to her sudden collapse during a lecture.

Subsequently, the deceased was conveyed to Osere, the Muslim burial ground, for the observance of her Janazah rites and interment.

During his eulogy, the father of the deceased stated that there were no indications or manifestations of any illness prior to her passing. A comprehensive discourse was held on various matters prior to my accompanying her to procure a taxi for transportation to the educational institution.

 

Mrs. Abibat Zubair, the Public Relations Officer of the college, verified the occurrence and stated that the deceased was a student of Music/Yoruba. She further mentioned that the college and students expressed their grief during the matriculation ceremony.

According to the Public Relations Officer, the Provost expressed her condolences to the parents during a visit yesterday and also paid tribute to the deceased during the matriculation ceremony today, alongside the students.
