A man, Olaide Olakiitan Oluwayemisi, has disclosed how he was inspired by the love story of a mentally unstable couple who were married for 22 years with 3 children. Read the story in full below;
THE MAD COUPLE IN MY VILLAGE
Before he went incomprehensible, Samade earned a degree in applied physics from the Nigerian university in Nsukka. Samade admired every villager for his skills and abilities. He possessed abilities and talents that could not be taken away by insanity. His dancing steps and voice are impossible for passersby to ignore. He sings and dances without musical instruments, but those who listened and watched him wished he was sane because he gave them such ecstasy.
Many couples were envious of his love life and marriage to Cynthia, another madwoman in the village. Samade and Cynthia had lived together for 22 years in a self-built self-contained dwelling beneath the popular bridge at Orile junction. On multiple occasions, the villagers witnessed them arguing, but no one knew how they resolved their differences.

Sadly, Samade and Cynthia do not share a common language. Cynthia was from the Eastern portion of the country, while Samade was from my village. They lived together without separation for 22 years.
How they agreed to live together and have three children is a mystery that has yet to be solved. They had no source of income other than begging, no common sense, lacked marriage counsellors, and never attended marriage classes, yet they lived together for 22 years without interruption.
Samade and Cynthia were the Romeo and Juliet of their world; they were the perfect couple. They were furious but proud of each other and their union. In the village, they were repeatedly observed kissing, hugging, caressing, and sharing romantic moments.
They bathed together, played together, ate together, entertained guests together, fought together, smiled together, etc. Samade and Cynthia exemplified romantics who lacked coordination. If they were not incomprehensible, they would have won the award for the best couple of the year.
The moral of the romantic story of Samade and Cynthia is, “If the incomprehensible can maintain a romantic relationship, the sane should be able to do better.” Unfortunately, the majority of sensible couples cannot remain married for 10 years without divorcing or separating. However, they have access to live’s pleasures. They have adequate shelter, food, education, spiritual support, money, etc.
As a young boy growing up in the village, I was inspired by the story of this chaotic couple. With this, I vowed to my creator that I would have an enviable marriage. When I was 17, I told myself, “If a madman can do it, I can do it better because I am in a better position.”
Unfortunately, Samade died on July 24, 20… and Cynthia died of depression and loneliness on September 3, 20 of the same year. Their children were adopted by three families whose lives were influenced by their romantic relationships.
They were both incomprehensible.
They shared a home
They died concurrently
