As the nation is Islamic, its citizens believe in the Prophet Muhammad, as Christians believe in Jesus Christ. Of Nazareth, Mecca is their place of worship, and Muslims from all over the world travel there to worship once a year during Hajj. The date of Hajj is determined by the lunar-based Islamic calendar (also known as the Haji calendar or AH). The annual Hajj takes place over a period of ten days, beginning on 1 Dhu al-Hijjah and concluding on 10 Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic calendar.
Mecca is the holiest place in the country because it is the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and the origin of the Islamic religion.
