Oyo PDP National Assembly Members Dump Makinde 48-Hours To Elections, Reveals Next Action
A forum of National Assembly candidates in Oyo State in the last February 25 presidential elections has passed a vote of no confidence on the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde over alleged anti-party act that led to loss of his party’s candidates, People’s Democratic Party ( PDP).
In a communique signed by Akinlolu Ganiyu from Oyo Central Senatorial District and made available to journalists, the aggrieved candidates urged supporters of NASS candidates who lost the election not to vote for the governor come March 18, 2023.
The statement reads below;
WE BLAME GOVERNOR SEYI MAKINDE AND BAYO LAWAL FOR THE LOSS OF LAST PRESIDENTIAL AND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS*
We Are bonafide PDP Excos, members and supporters of PDP in Oyo State.
2.We worked hard for the success of the PDP in Oyo state in the last National Assembly election.
3.We campaigned and even spent our money to ensure the success of PDP in Oyo state.
4.We lost all the three Senatorial seats in the state and lost 10 House of Representatives seats in the state.
5.We are Squarely putting the blame on GOVERNOR SEY MAKINDE AND BAYO LAWAL.
6.Governor Seyi Makinde has not been helpful to the party and the contestants.His negative statements,his stubborn refusal to suspend his bad polices,his refusal to financially support the candidates and his single obsession with the candidates is directly responsible for the loss.
7:Governor Seyi Makinde left the contestants without any support and was only interested in Making Asiwaju Hamed Bola Tinubu the president, with useless name, tagged G5.
8: Governor Seyi Makinde left all the candidates for his Master, Governor Wike of River State, who made him his P.A, instead for him to face the problem facing him in the state.
9.Seyi Makinde deceived the party that he would fund all the campaigns but is only interested in funding his Governorship re-election.
10.WE THE PDP SUPPORTERS OF THE NASS ASSEMBLY CANDIDATES WHO LOST ELECTION WILL NOT SUPPORT SEYI MAKINDE RE-ELECTION AS AGREED
11.We call on our members to vote for any party and any candidate other than the PDP or Seyi Makinde.
12.The PDP National Assembly candidates lost the election and so SEYI MAKINDE must also Lose his re-election on Saturday
13.We will not support a man who has failed his party by voting against his Presidential Candidate, that led to all National Assembly candidates lost, and one who has failed to perform as a reliable and responsible governor of the state.
14.We call on the supporters of all the APC National Assembly candidates who lost the election NOT TO VOTE FOR SEYI MAKINDE
