Ejes Gist News reports that the Abia state governorship candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prof. Uchenna Ikonne, has been confirmed dead.
The news of his death was confirmed by his family in a statement obtained by our correspondent.
Prof. Uchenna Ikonne is said to have died of multiple cardiac arrests after receiving treatment in the United Kingdom.
According to the family source, Prof. Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne died at Abuja National Hospital on January 25, 2023, at exactly 4 a.m.

The family source said, “He was recovering after taking proper treatment in the United Kingdom.” However, he collapsed a few days ago, leading to multiple cardiac arrests from which he didn’t recover.
