Unknown Gunmen Kill 2 police officers in Kogi State

On Wednesday, a group of assailants who have not yet been identified opened fire on a patrol van that was transporting members of the Kogi State Police Command, resulting in the deaths of two officers.

According to the information gathered by this online newspaper, the assault took place on Wednesday morning along Agbaja road in Lokoja, the capital of the state.

The perpetrators of the crime came from the brush and fired upon the security personnel.

It was reported that a gun duel broke out, which ultimately resulted in the crooks running away.

According to a statement released by William Aya, who serves as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Kogi State Police command, “The command lost two of its personnel during the gun duel with the hoodlums as they fled before the re-enforcement team arrived.” This information was included in the statement.

“The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, Akeem Yusuf, promptly despatched a team of tactical operatives to the area while tracing the hoodlums in order to catch and bring them to book for their criminal activities.

According to reports, the commissioner gave additional instructions to the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Inquiry to get the investigation into the incident underway.
