Anambra: Ovation as Peter Obi enters Soludo’s anniversary venue

 

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, stole the show in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, on Saturday.

 

The former governor participated in an event commemorating Governor Charles Soludo’s first year in office.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and other dignitaries attended the town hall meeting at the International Convention Center.

 

Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, was delivering a speech when a loud noise erupted when guests spotted Obi entering.

 

After being notified of Obasanjo’s presence, the LP candidate rose from his reserved seat in the front row to greet the former president.

“Today is a very special occasion in Anambra. Before you entered, my predecessor and an illustrious Anambra native in whom we take great pride, Mr. Peter Obi, Soludo said.

 

Soludo stated, “Before you arrived, I was appreciating Mr. President, the father of Nigeria, who laid very solid foundations.”

 

The audience gave the governor’s description of the opposition leader another round of applause and cheers.
