‘I’m FG’s liability, I work for APC,’ Portable resists Police arrest
Habib Okikiola, also known as Portable, a controversial street performer, has declared himself a government liability, stating that he works for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
On Tuesday in his bar in Sango-Ota, Ogun State, Portable made this statement in protest of his arrest by the Nigerian Police.
A video of the ‘Zeh’ singer causing a stir when police officers stormed his bar and attempted to arrest him had gone viral on the internet.
Portable told the police officers that he is a “superstar” and works for the APC while resisting arrest.
He said, “You dey tell superstar say ‘you are under arrest’. In my workplace? What are you telling me I am being arrested for?
“Because of a petition against me, you came and dispersed my bar? When you arrive, everyone runs up and down. Even me… You [should] call me, and either I or my manager will come to your office. I have manager.”
While a police officer instructed him to cooperate, he insisted that he is “federal property.”
“No, please do not tell me that this one will not help me. I’m a superstar. I’m a famous person. Show me your identification, everyone. Show me your ID card oga…. I’m a burden on the federal government. I am employed by APC. Akoi Tinubu. We own Nigeria,” portable added.
