The Abuja-Kaduna train service will not resume today as originally planned, according to the minister of transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo.

The comes on hours after it was revealed that the Abuja-Kaduna Train would resume operations today.

The resumption will be delayed by one week, according to the minister, who made this announcement while riding an inspection train from Abuja to Kaduna yesterday.

This will give the passengers more time to learn about the new method for buying tickets and other requirements.

The line is fully secured and prepared for operation, the minister added, but due to the new ticketing requirements, a brief extension of time may be necessary, possibly by a few days or even a few weeks.
