Wike expresses readiness for revolution
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, stated on Wednesday that one of the tactics Rivers voters will use in the upcoming general elections in 2023 to ensure that opponents lose the popular vote is a voting revolution.
Governor Wike spoke at Obodhi-Ozochi Junction, the location of the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Obodhi-Ozochi Road and Bridge in Ahoada West Local Government Area (LGA).
According to Wike, the goal of the voting revolution is to elect the consolidation team, which will be led by Siminialayi Fubara, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor in the State.
He revealed that the PDP will launch its campaign in the State on Monday in Omoku, the administrative center of the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (LGA).
The governor stated that voting for PDP candidates for governor, and state legislators will be in the best interest of the state’s citizens in order to build on the gains made over the previous seven years.
He contends that if any opposition party is unjustly elected to office, the state will experience stagnation.
Governor Wike urged Ekpeye voters to be prepared and take part in the voting revolution with the same enthusiasm they had shown when receiving the democratic benefits that his administration had brought to the region.
