What brain is?

The brain is one of the body’s largest and most complex organs. It is composed of more than 100 billion nerve cells that communicate via trillions of synapses. It consists of many specialised areas that collaborate: • The cortex is the brain’s outermost layer of cells.

Here are things that brains does

The brain controls the ability to think, speak, feel, see, hear, remember, and walk, among many other functions.

It controls even your breathing. The brain consists of a soft mass of connective tissues and nerves that are linked to the spinal cord. Some brain nerves travel directly to the eyes, ears, and other areas of the head.

Below are five things that can damage your brain

1.Too much of sugar consumption.

The presence of excessive sugar in the bloodstream around the brain, which has been shown to be toxic to brain cells, can lead to a decline in memory and a slowing of thinking speed. It can even cause brain cell death.

A diet high in sugar has both physical and mental health consequences.

Mood disorders may be exacerbated by the up-and-down cycle of high blood sugar followed by a crash.

Sugar consumption has been linked to an increased risk of depression and poorer outcomes in individuals with schizophrenia, according to research.

All over the body, excess sugar is detrimental. Even a single instance of elevated glucose in the bloodstream can be harmful to the brain, causing cognitive impairment and memory and attention deficits.

2.Not getting enough sleep.

According to a report on sleep deprivation among students published by The Guardian, on a more advanced level, sleep deprivation can overstimulate parts of the brain and even lead to permanent brain damage. “This is due to the brain’s ‘neural plasticity,’ or its ability to adapt to new circumstances.

Sleep deprivation makes us irritable and grumpy, and impairs cognitive processes such as memory and decision-making.

It has negative effects on the rest of the body and impairs the immune system, making us more susceptible to infection, for example.

3.Playing loud music with earphones or headphones.

Loud music damages the nerves in the brain

The research shows that noise levels above 110 decibels strip insulation from nerve fibers carrying signals from the ear to the brain.

4.Missing breakfast and inadequate water intake.

Breakfast deprivation deprives the brain of these vital nutrients. Multiple studies indicate that breakfast eaters perform significantly better in school.

Skipping breakfast leads to low blood sugar levels, which negatively impacts brain function.

5.Too much food.

Too much intake of food will result to High caloric and this intake could raise the risk of memory loss. Eating too many calories may do more than just expand your midsection.
