Peter Obi donates N75 million to Catholic hospital

On Thursday, opposition leader Peter Obi presented a cheque of N75 million to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Specialist Hospital in Nkpor, Anambra.

During the presentation, Mr. Obi explained that the donation included $50,000 raised for the hospital through his friend, Philip Ozuah, along with his personal contribution of N15 million.

Commending the hospital’s commendable efforts in health, education, and poverty reduction, the Labour Party leader expressed his commitment to rallying support from like-minded individuals for critical societal areas like health and education. He particularly acknowledged Dr. Ozuah for his positive intervention.

Mr. Peter Obi highlighted the hospital’s practice of treating individuals, including those unable to afford medical bills, emphasizing the importance of supporting such institutions. He pledged to continue his longstanding support for causes that are well-managed.

“I will always support institutions that are well-managed. I most sincerely thank the Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters for the wonderful work they are doing in critical areas of development such as health, education, and pulling people out of poverty,” remarked Mr. Obi.
