Wife of Niger State Deputy Governor Passes Away

Hajiya Zainab Garba, the wife of Niger State Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba, has died. Naija News reports that Hajiya Garba passed away early on Tuesday, July 2.

In a condolence message to his Deputy, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago described the death as a significant loss. He expressed that the news is devastating not only for the Deputy Governor but also for the government and the entire people of the state.

Governor Bago commiserated with his Deputy and he urged him to accept his wife’s demise as an act of Allah, taking solace in the fact that she lived a good life. The governor assured the Deputy Governor of the State Executive Council’s support during this period of grief. He also prayed to Allah to forgive all the shortcomings of the deceased and grant her Aljanna Firdausi.

In related news, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has approved ₦5 billion for constructing a new permanent National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Paiko.

The governor confirmed automatic employment for corps members who studied medicine and other health-related courses.

 

This initiative aims to address the shortage of doctors and other medical workers in state hospitals. Governor Bago disclosed this during the swearing-in ceremony of 1,600 youth corps members for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 at the Permanent Orientation Camp in Paiko, the headquarters of Paikoro LGA.

 

Governor Bago announced gift of ₦200,000 for each of the 1,600 corps members as a bonus for choosing to serve in the state.
