On Saturday morning, an unidentified woman jumped to her death from the Ekpan-Refinery flyover in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State
The reasons behind the drastic act remain unclear. It is speculated that the ongoing economic hardships in the country may have contributed.

A one-minute and 14-second viral video captured the harrowing moments before the incident. Passersby, some recording with their smartphones, watched as the woman edged closer to the flyover’s brink. Despite the presence of motorcycles and other vehicles, she ultimately jumped from the rail-less edge, which had been stripped by hoodlums.
An onlooker who posted the video commented on the incident: “She ended her life by jumping off the flyover leading to the refinery at Ekpan, a place I’ve known for decades. Depression is real, and we should regularly check on our loved ones, neighbors, friends, and colleagues, especially in these trying times.”
