Enyimba, the champions of the Nigeria Premier League, have appointed goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke as their new captain.

The two-time African champions announced this on their official website.

The 27-year-old has been named the new captain after the previous captain, John Noble, left Enyimba when his contract ended. Noble, who spent three years with Enyimba, has joined Tanzania Premier League club, Tabora United.

In September 2021, Olorunleke joined Enyimba after parting ways with Abia Warriors, their local rivals.

Despite tough competition from Noble and Djeri Bassa, the shot stopper swiftly became the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. Enyimba also announced the appointment of centre-back Somiari Alalibo as vice-captain.
