The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, has responded to those advocating for the continued detention of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, stating that its leader and the IPoB as a whole are not interested in pipeline guarding contracts, but rather in the emancipation of the people, including pipeline guarding contractors.
In a statement signed by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, titled “Wash a pig, clothe and dress up a pig, a pig will always remain a pig,” the pro-Biafra group stated that those campaigning for the continued detention of its leader forgot that militancy and militants for monetary gain are classified as criminals and terrorists.

The IPoB expressed surprise that a militant campaigning for the continued detention of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, should not be taken seriously by any responsible leader simply because he insults Ndigbo in his new romance with the powers that be at Aso Rock.

The pro-Biafra group stated unequivocally that it is not in the league of militants and oil pipeline guards and will not descend to their level, but rather stands for freedom for Biafrans and the oppressed people of the oil producing communities in Biafra land, as well as the pipeline guarding contractors’ communities.
“From freedom fighter to bunkering militant; from militant to ex-militant; from ex-militant to oil pipeline guard; from pipeline guard to Biafra agitator; from agitator to ex-agitator; from ex-agitator to political thug; from thuggery to government Informant, wash a Pig, cloth a Pig, a Pig will always remain a Pig,” the IPoB said in a statement.

“Those campaigning for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s continued detention in DSS solitary confinement forgot that militancy and militants for monetary gain are classified as criminals and terrorists.” IPoB does not belong in the same league as militants or oil pipeline guards.
“IPoB stands for Biafran freedom, including those working as oil pipeline security guards for oppressors.” It is unfortunate that those who should be making decisions about oil exploration in their region are instead guarding the oil pipelines for the oppressors and their children.

“The oil-producing communities in the Niger Delta are in shambles, while the oil revenue is used to develop and enrich the Northern oligarchy.” The Northern oligarchy oversees oil exploration, marketing, and looting, while Niger Delta youths are contracted to protect oil pipelines and infrastructure.”
