In the wake of the tragic military airstrike in Tudun Biri village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani has swiftly ordered an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The airstrike, which occurred during the Maulud festival celebrations, resulted in the unfortunate loss of lives.

Governor Sani expressed shock over the incident and issued a statement on Monday addressing the unfortunate situation. He highlighted that Muslim faithful observing the Maulud celebration were mistakenly killed, and several others sustained injuries during a military drone attack targeting terrorists and bandits.

In response to the tragedy, Governor Sani stated, “Search and rescue operations in the area are ongoing. The State Government has dispatched top government officials to the area to assess the situation, reach out to the families of the victims, and advise the government on the immediate actions/measures to be taken to lessen the pains of the families of the victims.

Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, the governor has ordered an immediate investigation to ascertain the events leading to the airstrike. He emphasized the commitment to preventing a recurrence of such a tragedy and assured the public that the protection of the people would be prioritized in the continuous fight against terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements.

Governor Sani further directed the immediate evacuation of the injured to the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital for emergency medical attention. He assured the public that the government would take responsibility for their treatment and related logistics.

While urging the affected community and all residents of the state to remain calm, Governor Sani called for continued support for the security forces and the state government in their collective battle against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements in Kaduna State.

“I am in consultation with the security forces to ensure that such mistakes are avoided in future operations,” added Governor Sani, emphasizing the need for enhanced coordination to prevent similar incidents in the future.
