Peter Obi Attributes Nigeria’s Backwardness to Leadership Failure

Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the last election, Mr. Peter Obi, recently highlighted Nigeria’s backwardness, attributing it to leadership failures in the country.

In a statement shared on his social media handle, Obi commended Prof. Chika Unigwe, who received two prestigious global honorary distinctions recognizing her literary and artistic contributions to Belgium.

Unigwe was honored with a Knight of the Order of the Crown and a Proclamation/Oorkonde by the Christoffel Plantin Fonds.

Obi expressed confidence in the remarkable talents and productivity of Nigerians, noting that Unigwe’s recognition was not unexpected given the nation’s pool of creative individuals.

He emphasized that despite the recent brain drain experienced in the country, there’s a potential for it to transform into a “brain gain” in the future.
