Vice President Kashim Shettima emphasized on Sunday that the ongoing security crisis in the North-West cannot be sustainably resolved through military offensives alone.
Instead, he stated that a combination of both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies is necessary to restore peace in the troubled area.
During discussions with journalists while visiting the Galadanci and Mangal families in Kano and Katsina respectively, Shettima highlighted the futility of relying solely on military action to address the crisis.

He expressed the need for a solution that encompasses both physical force and non-physical approaches.
The State House Director of Information, Olusola Abiola, who works in the Office of the Vice President, conveyed this information in a statement titled “President Tinubu’s solution to insecurity, poverty in northern Nigeria underway, says VP Shettima,” which he released on Sunday.
The statement disclosed that the Tinubu administration would soon introduce an initiative to tackle insurgency, poverty, and other challenges faced by Nigerians, particularly those residing in the northern region.

Vice President Shettima clarified that in the upcoming weeks, they would introduce the Pulaaku solution, aimed at addressing the grievances and social exclusion experienced by the Fulbe community in the North-West. This solution also aims to tackle the underlying causes of banditry and insurgency throughout the country.
Pulaaku, also known as the “Fulani code of conduct,” represents an important cultural and ethical value system specific to the Fulani people. It encompasses a wide range of norms, behaviors, and social practices that are distinctively Fulani.
Despite variations in language and region, Pulaaku serves as a significant unifying factor among the Fulani across different areas.

Regarding the plan to address the challenges faced by Nigerians, the Vice President stated that the President is committed to defining the essence and principles of modern governance. In the North-West, these challenges are aggravated by poverty and other factors.
