Election: I’m Challenging The Process, Not Outcome – Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections, has discussed his intention to contest the presidential election.

Obi stated that he is contesting the process that led to Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress being declared the winner of the election and not the declaration itself.

Obi stated this during his Monday morning appearance on Arise TV.

Meanwhile, On Monday, the Appeal Court postponed its decision on the Osun State Governorship Appeal filed by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

 

Adeleke had filed an appeal on February 9 against the ruling of the Osun State Governorship Tribunal, which invalidated his election and ruled in favour of the state’s former governor, Gboyega Oyetola.

Appeal Court postpones judgement on Osun Governorship appeal On Monday, the Appeal Court postponed its decision on the Osun State Governorship Appeal filed by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

 

Adeleke had filed an appeal on February 9 against the ruling of the Osun State Governorship Tribunal, which invalidated his election and ruled in favour of the state’s former governor, Gboyega Oyetola.

Gov. Adeleke petitioned the court to overturn the Osun State tribunal’s decision, describing it as a “miscarriage of justice.”

Nonetheless, when the tribunal ruled in favour of the former governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola, two of the three members of the tribunal panel determined that Oyetola had established that there was overvoting in some of the polling units.

 

But weeks later, Adeleke filed an appeal with the Akure division of the Court of Appeal on the 31 grounds of appeal, requesting “an order reversing the entire tribunal’s decision.”
