Apostle Suleman Challenges Halima Abubakar In Court
Halima Abubakar, a Nollywood actress, has been challenged to prove her accusation against Apostle Johnson Suleman, founder of Omega Fire Ministries International, in court.
Suleman communicated through his attorney, Dr. Abdul Mahmud.
He stated that the actress should submit the alleged allegations against him to judicial scrutiny by filing a response to the N1 billion damages suit filed against her.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the attorney claimed that his client had been “unjustly attacked, maligned, and defamed” by the actress in an attempt to blackmail him for financial gain.

He assured that the clergy would obtain justice in court for the actress’s defamation of his character.
Mahmoud recalled that in response to Suleiman’s relentless libellous attacks, a N1 billion damages suit was filed against the actress in the FCT High Court in Abuja.
“Before filing the lawsuit, we served the actress with a Letter of Cease and Desist on behalf of our client, but she continued her relentless and slanderous attacks on our client.
“In accordance with the court’s order, substituted service of court documents was advertised in a national newspaper.
“On the return date of March 27, 2023, neither the aforementioned actress nor her counsel appeared in court.
Accordingly, the court adjourned the hearing to the 6th and 7th of June 2023 for a definitive hearing of our client’s lawsuit, he explained.
Mahmoud stated that in accordance with the court’s directive, the 7 June hearing notice was published in a national newspaper and on the actress’s Instagram account.

“We are prepared to open and close the case of our client during the two days the court has allocated to our client in its docket.
“We will pursue and establish our client’s claims for damages against Halima Abubakar, the queen of social media’s pity party and clown of the circus she passes off as the court of public opinion, and expose her lies against our client;
“We will demonstrate that she is unwilling to submit her pack of lies and unsubstantiated claims to judicial scrutiny, hence her refusal to file a defence against our client’s lawsuit or appear in court,” he said.
The actress claimed that the pastor was having an affair with her, which made her ill.
She also claimed that the pastor had sexual relations with her while she was menstruating and that she became pregnant three times but miscarried each time.
In the lawsuit before Justice Enobia Obanor, the clergy requested that the defendant apologise for her false claims.
In addition, he asked the court to order Halima to pay for the removal of all links and publication of the defamatory statements across all internet platforms.
Suleman also requested a permanent injunction prohibiting the defendant from publishing the defamatory comments in the future and N1 billion in punitive and exemplary damages for libel.
In addition, he asked that Halima be required to pay N20 million in legal fees.
