Africa’s wealthiest man, Aliko Dangote, announced that his refinery has obtained a license to process over 300,000 barrels of Nigerian crude daily. The refinery is set to commence gasoline processing soon, marking a significant development in Nigeria’s energy sector.

Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, highlighted the government’s achievements in combating oil theft. He stated that substantial progress has been made in ending oil theft in the Niger Delta region, expressing optimism about reaching a daily crude oil production of 1.9 million barrels by year-end.


4. Kogi State Governorship Election Results:

The APC Governorship candidate, Usman Ododo, emerged victorious in the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State. Ododo secured 446,237 votes, defeating his closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, and Dino Melaye of the PDP.



5. Bayelsa State Governorship Election Update:

The Independent National Electoral Commission adjourned the collation of governorship election results in Bayelsa State until 12 noon on Monday. This decision was communicated by Mr. Wilfred Ifogah, Head of Department, Voter Education, and Publicity at the INEC office in Yenagoa.



6. Fresh Elections in Ogori/Magogo Wards:

INEC announced that elections in wards in Ogori/Magogo, initially suspended due to irregularities, will be conducted on Saturday, November 18, 2023. The conduct of the elections is subject to the Returning Officer’s determination of the application of the Margin of Lead Principle.



7. Senator Dino Melaye Rejects Election Result:

PDP’s Senator Dino Melaye rejected the result of Saturday’s governorship election, labeling it a sham and charade. He asserted that the APC victory was a daylight robbery that would not withstand democratic scrutiny.



8. SDP Governorship Candidate Alleges Irregularities:

Murtala Ajaka, the Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi State, alleged irregularities in Saturday’s election. Despite his concerns, he stated that challenging the outcome in court would be a futile effort.
