Delta police Officers manhandling woman in viral video nabbed
The Delta State Police Command stated on Sunday that it is aware of a video that has since gone viral on various social media platforms depicting “some police officer in the state dehumanising a woman.”
DSP Bright Edafe, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists.

The command stated, “After a thorough examination of the video clip, it is evident that the police officers behaved in a manner unbecoming of police officers.”
The statement read, “The command condemns their actions in their entirety, as no citizen deserves to be treated in such a way by the police or anyone else.”
“Their behaviour is not only inexcusable, but also unforgivable, and the command will not tolerate it.
“The errant Agbarho Division police officers have been identified, summoned, and detained at the command headquarters.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Ali, has ordered that internal disciplinary action be initiated immediately, and that the public will be informed of the outcome following their orderly room trial.”
“The command wishes to reiterate that ‘rope’ is not a police accessory and should not be used by police officers in any capacity while performing their duties. It is not within the command’s nature to dehumanise and violate the rights of citizens.”
The PPRO also cited the CP as assuring the public that the police officers in question will be dealt with severely in accordance with the Police Act and regulations in order to serve as a deterrent to others.
