Dr. Michael Tidi, the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, has dismissed speculations circulating on social media regarding the planned closure of the well-known Igbudu Market in Warri on Saturday, June 17, 2023. These rumors suggested that the closure was due to traditional rites of passage for a community monarch.

In a signed statement issued on Friday, which was shared with journalists, the Council Chairman clarified that the rites of passage for His Majesty London Orhifi Ememoh II, the Ovie of Agbarha, Warri, scheduled for Saturday, June 17, would not pose any security threats to the traders in Igbudu Market or customers looking to carry out their regular purchases.
