Stella Okotete should be rejected.
The Campaign for Transparency Network (CTN) has called on the Nigerian Senate to reject Stella Okotete due to concerns over her academic records. According to a statement by the Programme Director, Ebube Nwanka, it has been alleged that Okotete lacks a School Leaving Certificate and proceeded to the University of Port Harcourt for Remedial Studies. Subsequently, she gained admission via direct entry into Benson Idahosa University, Benin City, Edo State.

Further claims have been made by Ebube, stating that while studying as an undergraduate, Okotete had unresolved carryovers in four courses, which she did not retake. Allegedly, the University did not approve her graduation, and her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate has been questioned for its authenticity.

In response to these serious allegations, the police have launched an action plan to investigate the matter. The plan, issued in a letter dated 23/01/2023 and re-endorsed in another letter dated 03/02/2023, cites various potential offenses, including criminal conspiracy, falsification of documents, fraudulent misrepresentation of qualifications, corrupt practices, monumental fraud, and misappropriation.
The investigation is set to be conducted discreetly by the authorities, aiming to address the concerns surrounding Stella Okotete’s qualifications and related issues.”
