Labour Party Condemns Supreme Court‘s Verdict Upholding Tinubu’s Election

In a swift and critical response to the Supreme Court‘s recent verdict affirming Bola Tinubu as the President of Nigeria, the Labour Party, through its National Chairman Julius Abure, has condemned the decision as a “shredding of the sacred fabric of justice and good conscience.”

Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, expressed deep concern over the apex court’s ruling, stating that it was a clear indication that Nigeria is “sliding towards dictatorship.” He voiced his apprehensions regarding the executive branch’s perceived influence over both the judiciary and the legislature.

The Supreme Court’s ruling earlier in the day dismissed all petitions filed against Bola Tinubu’s election as President, reaffirming his victory in the February 25th election. The court cited the failure of the petitioners, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, to substantiate their allegations of electoral irregularities and non-compliance with the Electoral Act.
