The incident occurred on a Friday evening, sending shockwaves through the community. A private aircraft, carrying the minister and some of his aides, crash-landed near the airport, sparking concerns about the well-being of those on board.

However, a source close to the Minister, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan, provided reassuring information. Adelabu remains in high spirits and untroubled by the incident, as revealed by the source.

“The minister feels the incident is not something to worry about. It was actually a minor thing, and that is how he has taken it,” said an aide of Adelabu, who wished to remain anonymous.

The aide further disclosed that the Minister’s calmness stemmed from the fact that none of the passengers sustained injuries during the incident. Everyone aboard the aircraft disembarked safely, without any issues.

The aircraft had departed from Abuja with Ibadan as its intended destination but fell short by approximately 50 meters of the threshold, ultimately skidding into a ditch near the runway.

As the nation breathed a collective sigh of relief over the well-being of the Minister and his team, the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) announced that they had launched an investigation into the root cause of the incident.
