Jay Boogie Addresses Allegations of Fraud Following Cosmetic Surgery Complications

Daniel Anthony Nsikan, widely known as Jay Boogie, a prominent Nigerian crossdresser, has responded to accusations of fraud after soliciting financial aid following complications from cosmetic surgery.

In a recent statement, Jay Boogie addressed the controversy surrounding his medical condition, clarifying that he never claimed to require a kidney transplant. Instead, he sought financial assistance for his treatment expenses.

The controversy stemmed from a series of Instagram posts where the crossdresser detailed complications arising from liposuction and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery conducted in October.

Jay Boogie recounted being transferred to multiple hospitals due to post-surgery complications, including acute kidney injury and sepsis, which necessitated dialysis.

Responding to allegations, Jay Boogie clarified, “I NEVER POSTED I NEEDED KIDNEY TRANSPLANT, I only posted I needed donations for my hospital bills.” He further highlighted his discharge from the Zenith Medical and Kidney Centre, Yaba, due to hospital bed unavailability in critical care units at LUTH and LASUTH.

The controversy escalated after a GoFundMe account was initiated to gather financial support for Jay Boogie’s treatment, with claims that the crossdresser was uncooperative and had failed to provide requested hospital reports.

The statement from Jay Boogie continued, “I NEVER SCAMMED NIGERIANS, I NEVER LIED, AND I DID NOT DEFRAUD ANYONE. I HAD SEPSIS AND ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY, AND I WAS ON DIALYSIS.”

Expressing gratitude to those who supported him during his ordeal, Jay Boogie emphasized the toll the situation had taken on his mental health, citing online harassment and threats. He further assured supporters that his health condition is improving, having been discharged on November 28, 2023.
